**Reminder to Students Receiving Educational Loans**
All students who have taken out educational loans are reminded that they must strictly adhere to the repayment schedule stipulated in their loan agreements. In cases where repayment cannot be made on time, students should proactively utilize mechanisms such as deferred principal repayment or extended repayment periods to avoid late payments, which could negatively impact their personal credit.

**Repayment Guidelines**
**Question 35: What should students do if they are unable to repay the principal and interest of their educational loan on schedule? What are the consequences of late repayment?**
(1) Educational loans are not gifts or welfare subsidies provided by the government; they are preferential loans. Therefore, students must still repay the principal and interest according to the terms outlined in their loan agreements. If a student is unable to make timely repayments due to unforeseen circumstances, they should promptly and proactively contact any branch of this bank to discuss possible solutions. The bank will assess the student’s financial situation and history to determine eligibility for deferred principal repayment or an extension of the repayment period, thereby helping to alleviate repayment pressure. However, any application for such arrangements involves changes to the repayment amount, term, and related conditions, and must comply with regulations set by the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, any amendments must be approved after both the student and their co-guarantor sign supplementary agreements or other relevant documents. All parties must then fulfill their obligations under the new terms.
(2) If a student fails to make timely repayments, this bank will take legal action against both the student and their co-guarantor to recover the outstanding amount. The Financial Joint Credit Information Center will also record both parties as having不良 credit history and will make this information available for review by all financial institutions. This不良 credit record may not only affect the credit standing of both the student and their co-guarantor but may also result in rejections when applying for checks, credit cards, or other types of loans in the future. Additionally, it may negatively impact future employment or further education opportunities both domestically and internationally. Please take this matter very seriously.
