Tzu Chi University Chinese Singing Competition
1. Purpose of the Event: Through this Chinese Singing Competition, we aim to combine
entertainment and education, inspire students' interest in learning chinese, and further enhance their
chinese language skills.
2. Organizer: TCU Chinese Center
3. Competition Date and Time: November 22, 2024 (Friday), 17:30 - 21:00
4. Competition Venue: D106 Boya Lecture Hall (Jianguo Campus)
5. Eligibility: Students who have taken a Chinese course in the past three years at this university.
The first-place winners of the previous Chinese Singing Competition are not eligible to participate in
this event.
6. Registration Method: Please complete the registration form by 12:00 on November 5.

7. Competition Rules:
i. The number of participants is limited based on the order of registration, and the spots are
available until full.
ii. There are two categories: Group and Individual. The Group category allows a maximum of 7
groups, and the Individual category allows a maximum of 13 participants. Each participant
can only register for one category.
iii. Each group may have a maximum of 3 members, and all members must perform on stage.
Both Group and Individual participants may bring one accompanist.
iv. The song theme is open, but it must not involve explicit content, violence, or discrimination.
v. After taking the stage, participants must introduce themselves and their team members in
chinese for 30-40 seconds, briefly explaining the background and personal thoughts on the
song. A short bell will sound at 30 seconds, and a long bell at 40 seconds to signal the start of
the performance.
vi. The singing time should not exceed 5 minutes.
vii. The competition order will be drawn by a representative of the Chinese Center on November
12 at 15:30, and the results will be announced on the Tzu Chi University website on
November 14.
