Summer vacation is not only a peak travel season but also a high season for gastrointestinal and vector-borne diseases. TCU Health Center reminds you~~ while relaxing during the summer vacation, also take personal protective measures to avoid infectious diseases and enjoy a carefree summer!
🌞 During the summer vacation, overseas travel, study abroad, and exchanges with neighboring countries are frequent, increasing the risk of imported infectious diseases. To maintain your health, you should wash your hands frequently, pay attention to food hygiene, and take personal protective measures to reduce the risk of infectious diseases, ensuring the quality and health of your travels.
🌞 If you are traveling to areas where mosquito-borne diseases such as Dengue Fever and Zika are prevalent, wear light-colored long-sleeved clothing during outdoor activities and apply mosquito repellent to exposed skin. Remember to self-monitor your health for 14 days after returning. If you develop symptoms such as fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, or rash, seek medical attention promptly and inform the doctor of your travel history.
🌞 Recently, there has been a gradual increase in COVID-19, influenza, gastrointestinal colds, and enterovirus infections. Especially with frequent travel across regions during the summer, remember to wash your hands, wear a mask if you have a cold, and stay at home if you are sick.
# As the weather gets hotter, remember to carry a water bottle and drink water regularly. Make it a habit to drink at least 1,500cc of boiled water daily, and don't wait until you're thirsty to drink.
# For more information, visit the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov.tw/) or call the toll-free epidemic prevention hotline at 1922 (or 0800-001922). If you need urgent consultation about infectious diseases while abroad, you can also call +886-800-001922.
TCU Health Center of the Student Affairs Office wishes you a fulfilling and enjoyable summer vacation!
