Dear All,
Our school is committed to creating an environment that respects diversity and inclusiveness and strives to eliminate all forms of discrimination and bias.
Microaggressions are actions or remarks, often subtle or unintentional, that convey disrespect, insult, or devaluation towards specific groups. Despite their subtlety, these actions are real and harmful, and such words can be extremely damaging, easily escalating into bullying incidents if not carefully managed.
※What are microaggressions? Here are some examples:
Disrespectful comments or mimicry about specific racial cultures or languages.
Questioning the professional abilities or academic achievements of faculty and students from specific racial groups.
Using racially biased language or tone in everyday interactions.
Ignoring the opinions and contributions of faculty and students from specific racial groups in various tasks and learning activities.
We urge all faculty and students to work together to actively understand and avoid microaggressions. By promoting multicultural learning and mutual inclusion among different groups, we aim to create a friendly campus and foster human rights awareness with 'more understanding and less misunderstanding.' Let us work together to build a respectful and inclusive campus environment where every member feels valued and respected.
Thank you.
