淡江大學「全英語教學推動中心」近年與美國在台協會（American Institute in Taiwan, AIT） 合作辦理 EMI（English as a Medium of Instruction）教師專業培訓課程。本課程自開辦以來已 邁入第三年，致力於協助教師在理論與實務並進的架構下，深化全英語授課之教學設計與課 堂實踐。 過去兩年培訓課程皆以線上方式進行；本學期特別邀請美籍英語教學專員 Jye Smallwood 先生來校擔任駐校學者並授課，提供高品質、以互動與實務導向為核心的實體培訓課程。 Smallwood 先生具備英國牛津大學「語言教學應用語言學」碩士學位，現為劍橋大學「理論 與應用語言學」博士候選人，並曾於十多個國家任教，具備豐富的跨文化與 EMI 教學經驗。 EMI 教師專業培訓課程將於三月起開始上課，資訊如下：
一、課程概述 課程分三個階段，每階段 12 小時。教師可依個人需求選擇一個或多個階段課程(請參閱 各階短課程簡介)。每個階段提供 2 個平行時段，擇一報名，並於整個課程固定參與該時段。 每個階段的課程內容相同，但 A、B 班進度或風格可能略有差異。若教師於某週無法參與原 報名時段，可在同一週內跨時段補課一次，每階段僅限補課一次。
二、課程地點：淡水校園驚聲紀念大樓T901室。

**English Medium of Instruction (EMI) Teacher Professional Development Program**
The Center for English Medium of Instruction (EMI) at Tamkang University has collaborated with the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) to offer EMI Teacher Professional Development courses. Now in its third year, this program aims to enhance teachers i instructional design and classroom practice in EMI through a balanced approach of theory and practical application.
Previously conducted online, this semester is program features Mr. Jye Smallwood, an English language teaching specialist from the United States, as a resident scholar and instructor. Mr. Smallwood holds an MSc in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching from the University of Oxford and is currently a PhD candidate in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. With teaching experience in over ten countries, he brings extensive expertise in cross-cultural and EMI instruction.
The EMI Teacher Professional Development Program will commence in March. Details are as follows:
**I. Course Overview**
The program consists of three modules, each lasting 12 hours. Teachers may select one or more modules based on their needs (please refer to the module introductions for details). Each module offers two parallel sessions; participants must choose one session and attend it consistently throughout the module. While the content of each module is identical, the pace or style of Classes A and B may differ slightly. If a teacher is unable to attend their scheduled session in a given week, they may attend the alternative session once per week, with a maximum of one makeup session allowed per module.
